Search Tips
Below is a list of helpful tips to keep in mind while searching our database.
Formulating your search...
Please use keywords specifically related to your subject. The more specific you are, the better your results will be.
Remember that searches are case insensitive. Entering "neil armstrong" will produce the same results as "Neil Armstrong".
Do not use the keywords "book", "CD" or "DVD" in your search unless those words are specifically included in the title.
If you can not recall the exact title of a book, but you know the author's name, try entering his or her name and then browsing through the results.
Do not use Boolean search operators such as "and", "or" or "not". Our database does not support them.
If you can't find what you're looking for...
Check your spelling. A misspelled search term is the most common culprit behind a failed search.
If searching for a specific keyword or phrase does not produce any useful results, broaden and/or shorten your keyword or phrase. For example, when searching for a book about the Hubble Space Telescope, begin by entering those exact keywords. If your search yields no results, try entering a broader search phrase such as space telescopes or a shorter keyword such as telescope.
If browsing an index is a more productive search tactic for you, please visit our Site Map; it contains a detailed list of subjects, categories and keywords.
If you are absolutely certain that you have formulated your search correctly, but still can't find what you're looking for, try again later. We add new titles to our database on a regular basis.
